The start after the return to the Women’s Bundesliga has failed Jena. Now Samira Sahraoui is expected to help Carl Zeiss gain a foothold in the still young season.
0:3 was the result against Bayer Leverkusen at the start of the 2021/22 season, Jena did not get off to a good start. Against Turbine Potsdam, Samira Sahraoui could liven up the attacking play. The FCC signed the striker on Thursday.
The 18-year-old most recently played for upcoming opponents Turbine, but now she wants to “develop as a footballer and as a person” in Jena and help the FCC stay in the league – “preferably with a lot of goals of her own”.
Coach Anne Pochert is counting on Sahraoui: “Samira is a very fast player and has her strengths in one-on-one. We can use her in the centre of the attack as well as on the flanks and are thus even better positioned across the board.
