Today at 5 pm the transfer window for the Premier League slams shut, with teams then no longer able to add to their squad until the transfer window in January. Throughout the summer, there has been widespread speculation regarding Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele and a possible transfer, with a long list of clubs being linked with a move for the young World Cup winner.
Dembele only signed for Barcelona a year ago but he has struggled to reach the form that is expected at the best club in the world and has watched as other signings like Coutinho have come into the team and done well at the Nou Camp.

One team that has constantly been linked with the star is Arsenal, with new manager Unai Emery said to be keen to bring him to the club either on a permanent deal or a loan. However, Arsenal fans are likely to be disappointed as Dembele responded to questions from fans yesterday to say: “I’m staying at Barcelona and I’m ready to play the Spanish Super Cup.”
So it is not looking optimistic for Arsenal to get that deal over the line today but there could still be plenty of other discussions going on for other players. The Gunners have recently let Lucas Perez and Calum Chambers leave the club, meaning that they may still be looking to add some more players to their squad.
Vida linked with Arsenal
Croatian defender Vida has been linked with pretty much every top club there is this summer but Arsenal could make a late swoop for him. They have also been linked to a move for Ricardo Rodriguez, with Nacho Montreal currently out injured.
Danny Welbeck could make a deadline day move after he has found his chances limited with Arsenal having brought in Lacazette and Aubameyang in recent transfer windows. The former Manchester United player could also leave after the deadline day if he makes a move to a team outside of the Premier League, with Besiktas said to be interested.
