His debut season playing for Liverpool has been astonishing and recognised by the PFA members from the 92 Premier League and Football League clubs at a ceremony in London, Sunday evening.
Mohamed Salah is the seventh player from Liverpool to be named PFA Players’ Player of the Year after Luis Saurez, Steve Gerrard, John Barnes, Ian Rush, Kenny Dalglish and Terry Mcdermott.
Salah has beaten off the competition from Kevin De Bryne, David Silva, Leroy Sane, David de Gea and Harry Kane with a groundbreaking record of 41 goals in 46 appearances for his club of which, 33 were in the Premier League.
Humberly collecting the trophy, the number 11 for Liverpool said ”I feel great. I work hard and I’m very happy to win it. My personal thing is to win something for the team. I always think about the team, I don’t think about myself, so the most important thing for me is to win something for the team. We are very close now, in the semi-final, so hopefully, we’re going to win it.”
Salah was asked what helped him to maintain his consistent form throughout the campaign where he explained that it’s his team that helps him to perform so well and keep in shape. ”The team helped me a lot, the way we play, they help me, the pass me the ball a lot. So the team help me a lot, honestly to perform and be in that shape.”
