Amorim officially took office on Monday
On Monday, the new head coach, Ruben Amorim, officially took up his post. The Portuguese manager comes to the English record champions from Lisbon with a lot of praise and is expected to finally lead the club back to the top of the Premier League table. Man United’s last league title came under Sir Alex Ferguson in the 2012/13 season.
Under Amorim, the United coaching team is being turned upside down. As a result, van Nistelrooy is also leaving the club. This was announced by Manchester on Monday evening on the club’s website. The former striker is “a Manchester United legend” and “will always be very welcome at Old Trafford”.
In addition to van Nistelrooy, his Dutch compatriots Rene Hake (assistant coach), Jelle ten Rouwelaar (goalkeeping coach) and Pieter Morel (match analyst) are no longer employed by the club.
