Further injury shock for the 76ers: Maxey out for weeks

The Philadelphia 76ers will have to do without their All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey for several weeks. An injury to his thigh forces him to take a break after a strong start to the season, further weakening the already struggling 76ers.

The Philadelphia 76ers have to cope with another serious loss: All-Star Tyrese Maxey. As reported by ESPN, the 24-year-old sustained a hamstring injury in the loss to the Clippers that will sideline him for several weeks. The injury was confirmed by the team on Thursday as a right hamstring strain, and the Sixers plan to re-evaluate Maxey in a week to assess the healing process. Maxey himself would have liked to have continued playing to support the team during this difficult period, but due to the nature of the injury, the team is taking a cautious approach. The All-Star is averaging 27.6 points per game so far and is leading the NBA in playing time per game (39.7 minutes).

NBA: All-Stars George and Embiid return, Maxey forced to sit out

Maxey’s absence hits the 76ers particularly hard, as the team is already weakened this season by injuries to other key players. Joel Embiid, who is expected to return on Tuesday, was also injured and is serving a three-game suspension. The 76ers, who now have a 1-6 record after losing to the Clippers, find themselves in last place – a frustrating start to the season for a team with high expectations.

Paul George, who also started the season injured, played his second game for the 76ers on Wednesday and put in a good performance with 18 points. But the team faces a tough challenge due to the injuries. The Maxey and Embiid partnership, which put together an impressive 29-7 record last season, remains rare for the time being.
