The former coach of Novak Djokovic is entering the women’s tour as a coach. The 2001 Wimbledon champion will coach a former Wimbledon champion.
In spring 2024, Novak Djokovic and his coach Goran Ivanisevic went their separate ways – now the Croatian is returning as a coach. However, the 2001 Wimbledon winner will not be passing on his tips on the ATP tour, but on the women’s tour.
The 53-year-old will take over the coaching job from Elena Rybakina, who triumphed at Wimbledon in 2022.
WTA: Rybakina is one of the world’s best
The Russian-born player, who plays for Kazakhstan, parted ways with her long-time coach Stefan Vukov before the US Open. This season, the 25-year-old won three WTA titles, but also missed several weeks of the tour due to injury. Since the US Open in New York, the 25-year-old, currently ranked fifth in the world, has not played a match.
