FC Bayern introduces new sports director

Dragan Tarlac is the new sports director of FC Bayern. The club made the official announcement on Tuesday. The 51-year-old succeeds Daniele Baiesi, who is returning to Italy

Tarlac and FCBB managing director Marko Pesic had already been in talks in the spring: “We are delighted that he has chosen Bayern to continue his career. During the talks, we quickly realized that we approach issues in a very similar way. A relationship of trust quickly developed and communication with everyone involved was very good this summer,” Pesic was quoted as saying on the Munich club’s website.

Tarlac had held the role of team director of the Serbian national team since 2021, which most recently won Olympic bronze in Paris against the DBB team with NBA MVP Nikola Jokic.

In his active career, Tarlac was active both in the NBA (Chicago Bulls) and in Europe, winning five championship titles with Piraeus, two cup victories and the EuroLeague in 1997.

“It’s a great honor and an equally great opportunity to work for such a great organization and brand. When Marko (Pesic) showed me the vision and goals of the club, combined with the arrival of our new coach and moving into the SAP Garden – it all came together perfectly and I didn’t have to think twice about accepting this challenge,” Tarlac says about his signing.
