Ahead of the two upcoming European finals and the European Championship in Germany this summer (14 June to 14 July), the European Football Union is warning against buying tickets on other platforms or around the stadiums.
When Olympiakos Piraeus and AC Florence play the Conference League final in Athens on Wednesday or the Champions League winner between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund is crowned in London on Saturday, only officially certified tickets will be valid according to UEFA.
Specifically, the European Football Union warns against purchasing tickets on the secondary market or in the immediate vicinity of the venues. According to UEFA, these tickets are all invalid
“Tickets purchased from unauthorized third parties, websites or agencies, as well as on social media sites or from black marketeers, may be cancelled by UEFA at any time and fans may be refused entry or ejected from the stadium,” the association announced. The unauthorized sale of tickets could also constitute a criminal offence under certain laws.
Cancellations already happened
Actions have already been taken: According to the official announcement, “several hundred tickets have already been canceled because they were offered and/or passed on in violation of the ticket sales conditions”.
For this reason, UEFA strongly advises fans not to travel to the stadiums without a ticket. Only tickets distributed digitally via the official association channels are valid.
