World number one Iga Swiatek has avoided an early exit at the Australian Open with a great deal of effort. The 22-year-old Polish player won 6:4, 3:6, 6:4 against the American Danielle Collins in Melbourne
Swiatek was already two breaks down in the third set, but managed to turn things around in the Rod Laver Arena. Collins had beaten Angelique Kerber in three sets in the first round on her Grand Slam comeback. Swiatek converted her third match point after 3:14 hours
