Who will be allowed to take part in the final round of the FC 24 Pro Open will be decided this weekend. Eight Germans will be competing to keep their chance of a place in the World Championship
64 players are competing. 16 of them will come closer to their goal of becoming champion of the FC Pro Open this weekend. The signs that one or more German players could be among them are not bad in the run-up.
Umut ‘RBLZ_Umut’ Gültekin was invited away from the qualifiers. Seven other Germans made it onto the shortlist via the regional qualifier: Berkay ‘BerkayLion’ Demirci, Joe ‘JH7’ Hellmann, Jannis ‘JistenNSQ’ Pütz, Lukas ‘lukas_official11’ Wolff, Sean ‘seanldw’ Landwehr, Julien ‘julien_fngk’ Fungk and Serhat ‘Serhatinho’ Öztürk. BVB newcomer Bradley ‘Assault_il’ Destoop also qualified, while Anders ‘RBLZ_Vejrgang’ Vejrgang, like Gültekin, received an invitation.
How to play
The Global Qualifier of the FC 24 Pro Open gets underway this Friday with the Swiss rounds. This means that three wins from five matches are required to progress. The 32 players who have achieved this will progress to the knockout phase, which will be played in a double elimination system. Ultimately, 16 of the remaining 32 eSports players will qualify for the final round, where not only the FC 24 Pro Open champion will be crowned, but also four places for the individual world championship will be awarded. This round will be played from November 27 to February 3.
It is not yet possible to see which games are already scheduled for Friday. However, developer and organizer EA SPORTS has already teased a few duels – including ‘BerkayLion’ against ‘RBLZ_Umut’. The Werder returnee has already picked up on this pairing on X, writing: “Hab Bock” – decorated with a laughing emoji.
