US boxer with historic coup

Terence Crawford crowns himself the first undisputed welterweight world champion of the four-belt era. Errol Spence has no chance in world title fight in Las Vegas

US boxer Terence Crawford is the first undisputed welterweight world champion of the four-belt era. The 35-year-old won the highly anticipated clash of previously unbeaten superstars against compatriot Errol Spence in Las Vegas by ninth-round technical knockout.

“Today I showed how big I am,” said Crawford, who has won all 40 of his career professional fights, 31 of them by knockout. “I’m an over-performer. Nobody believed in me when I was fighting my way up. Now everyone believes in me,” Crawford added.

Spence admits Crawford “was the better man “

For Spence, it was his first loss in his 29th fight. “He was the better man tonight,” he admitted, struggling with his timing, “He caught me between punches. There’s no excuses.”

Terence “Bud” Crawford now holds the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO federation belts. In a dominant fight he sent his opponent to the floor three times, after 2:32 minutes of the ninth round referee Harvey Dock stopped the fight.
