The BBL had four games to offer on Saturday. Bayreuth lost clearly to Hamburg, while Würzburg and MBC made it exciting. In the evening, Bonn found the right spin against Bamberg after the break.
The Telekom Baskets Bonn have successfully defended their lead in the BBL standings. Last year’s main round runner-up also won its second game of the season 84:76 (39:43) against former series champion Brose Bamberg after a clear improvement in performance in half-time two and kept its clean slate. Bamberg, meanwhile, continued their false start with their third defeat in the third game.
US guard TJ Shorts II was the most successful scorer with 16 points for the Bonners, who turned a 50:52 deficit into a 67:55 victory with a huge spurt in between. His compatriot Justin Wright-Foreman scored 17 points for Bamberg.
