‘Bassinho’ and ‘plaplup’ leave Hoffenheim

Jan-Luca ‘Bassinho’ Bass and Marcel ‘plaplup’ Schwarz are leaving Hoffenheim. Team manager Lukas King will also devote himself to other professional tasks in the future

Since the eSports department was founded in 2020, Jan-Luca ‘Bassinho’ Baß and Marcel ‘plaplup’ Schwarz have played for TSG. With Bass, Hoffenheim already made it to the final round of the Virtual Bundesliga Club Championship (VBL CC) in 2021. In the second half of last season, the duo of Fabrice ‘whiteezz05’ Weiß and Lukas ‘Lukas_1004’ Seiler were mostly used.

At the end of 2021, Bass won the eSport Grind Week – beating out a pool of 465 other players. He also qualified for the VBL Grand Final, where he lost out in the quarter-finals to eventual German champion Dylan ‘DullenMIKE’ Neuhausen on Xbox.

Schwarz “helped younger colleagues in various situations “

Schwarz was mainly used as a coach in TSG’s debut season. “His understanding of FIFA and his calm, thoughtful manner helped his younger colleagues in various situations,” said Hoffenheim’s eSports department.

Team manager Lukas King was mainly “responsible for development on and off the virtual pitch”, and “drove innovation”. He will devote himself to other professional fields in the future.

It is not yet known where Hoffenheim’s Bass and Schwarz will move to. News on TSG’s squad planning is to follow “soon”.
