Trackday at Donington: Sylvain Guintoli on the Suzuki Hayabusa

Suzuki gives test rider Sylvain Guintoli a Hayabusa for their successful collaboration: the former MotoGP rider completes a trackday with it at Donington

New Suzuki test rider Sylvain Guintoli is now the owner of a Suzuki Hayabusa. As a thank you for their joint successes in the MotoGP project and in the World Endurance Championship, Suzuki presented the Frenchman with a Hayabusa in a special paint job with the Yoshimura look.

Normally, the Hayabusa shines on long and fast highway stages. Guintoli, however, has already tested the 264kg, 190hp Hayabusa on the track and afterwards expressed his positive opinion on the handling of the endurance athlete, which is much heavier than a superbike.

“First of all, I have to say that the bike looks impressive. I have to thank Suzuki for this beautiful bike, with which we celebrate our successes of the past years,” Guintoli commented.

“On the track the Hayabusa is fantastic. The throttle response is so linear and the power delivery is very smooth. The bike gives the rider a lot of confidence to push harder,” reports Guintoli, who will have to look for a new job in 2023.

His job as a MotoGP test rider will end with Suzuki’s exit at the end of the year. And Suzuki is also withdrawing from the World Endurance Championship, although they are currently leading the championship as defending champions.
