39,413 people took part in the Twitter poll over three days and have decided: Edson ‘Edson28’ Pedro is FIFAe Rookie of the Year. It was a close race until shortly before the polls closed – with 39 per cent, he finished just ahead of Leipzig’s Anders ‘Anders’ Vejrgang on the winner’s podium.
The Dane was awarded 38.2 per cent, which meant he was only about 315 votes short of victory. Manuel ‘ManuBachoore’ Bachoore, on the other hand, was slightly out of the running with 22.8 per cent.
Rookie meets champion
Both he and Pedro start this afternoon’s FIFAe World Cup where both are seeded in the same group to face Dylan ‘DullenMIKE’ Neuhausen. The German singles champion is one of the contenders for the title, but Bachoore also makes it into the favourites’ circle.
‘Anders’, on the other hand, will take to the controller for Denmark in the FIFAe Nation Series in a fortnight’ time.
