The FUT account of the content creator ‘Trymacs’ has been hacked for the second time within a very short time, will EA SPORTS pay for the loss again?
Christmas is actually the time to give, but some people mainly take instead. And in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team (FUT), nobody currently uses as much as ‘Trymacs’. The content creator has been hacked for the second time within a few weeks, and his account has been swept empty again. His live reaction is hardly a sign of horror, but rather of resignation.
The answer from EA SPORTS will be interesting, the developer had decently compensated for the first FUT theft from the influencer: The property damage is said to have been 22,000 euros, 85 million coins were paid as reparations. Now ‘Trymacs’ is again in front of – to put it in a somewhat exaggerated way – nothing. According to his own statement, he lost objects worth 26,000 euros as a result of the second hack.
Probably no 2FA necessary
It is noticeable this time that Maximilian Stemmler – the real name of the Internet star – should not have received a report about the break-in of his account. This is protected by a two-factor authentication, whereby the rightful owner should at least be informed. “Someone hacked into this without actually activating two-factor authentication,” is the ‘Trymacs’ conclusion.
“That doesn’t work at all, that’s so bad,” the content creator adds live on the Twitch stream. “I don’t understand, nobody can understand. How can that be?” A legitimate question that EA SPORTS needs to find an answer to and communicate to. In any case, ‘Trymacs’ can once again only hope that the developer will pay for the loss – and then start over.
The German is not said to be the only popular FUT trader who was recently hit by a hack. The FIFA scene is perplexed and indignant. “It’s so fucking ridiculous what’s going on at EA. It’s just ridiculous,” said ‘Mouh Kay’ clearly. The first theories that the hackers are insiders from EA circles are put forward. And as long as the publisher does not provide plausible explanations for its security vulnerabilities, they will hold up.
