A successful start for Bonn’s basketball players on their trip to the Far East. At the Intercontinental Cup in Singapore, however, the runners-up are not challenged at all
The newly formed Telekom Baskets Bonn started the FIBA Intercontinental Cup with a clear victory. The Champions League winners beat the Al Manama team from the Kingdom of Bahrain 105:50 (50:22) in Singapore on Thursday.
The team of the new coach Roel Moors was not seriously challenged at any time. The best scorer for the German runners-up was newcomer Sam Griesel with 28 points.
On Saturday against Zhejiang
The champions of the continental associations take part in the competition. In the second match, the Bonners will meet the Chinese club Zhejiang Golden Bulls on Saturday. The finals will take place on Sunday.
In the Basketball Bundesliga, the Bonn team will play Rasta Vechta away on 1 October and the Tigers Tübingen at home on 4 October – with two games against BBL returnees.
