Feyenoord is working on a very disappointing season, but yet the general director Jan de Jong is satisfied with Giovanni van Bronckhorst. The trainer doesn’t have to fear dismissal, says De Jong to RTV Rijnmond.
Before I started I had imagined it differently, yes. When I said’ yes’ to Feyenoord in August, the club was the first with twelve points from four matches. When I started third or fourth, and that’s what we’re about now,”said the former general manager of the NOS.
In the competition it doesn’t go as we thought and hoped. That is clear, fortunately we still have the cup. We’re just satisfied with Giovanni and we think we have a very good trainer at home,”Feyenoord is in fourth place after 23 rounds of play with 39 points and has 22 points less than the leader PSV.
The Rotterdammers will be playing against Heracles Almelo next Sunday and a week later the confrontation with PSV is on the programme. In the KNVB-Beker, the Kuipbewoners are connected to William II. On 28 February the game will be played in the semi-finals and the other semi-finalists are AZ and FC Twente.
Is Giovanni van Bronckhorst (yet) the right trainer for Feyenoord?
