Jordy Clasie wanted to go to Feyenoord last summer, but the Rotterdam club didn’t see it like to rent the midfielder of Southampton. In conversation with Football Inside, Clasie tells us that he had become unhappy in England and that he thought of his former employer as an excuse, but refused to be a technical director Martin van Geel.
“Since that Ronald Koeman left, other players have been taken. Then you get it harder yourself. I and my wife became unhappy”, says Clasie, who tried to find his happiness in football and thought that Feyenoord, the club he played for 15 years, could offer solace,”so it is logical that it was the first choice at that time”.
Club Bruges was therefore a second choice for the midfielder,”I had contact with Feyenoord, but unfortunately it wasn’t mutual. Martin van Geel explained to me that there was no room on the midfield, that it stood. Everyone knows that I am a Feyenoorder. At the moment I am happy at Club Brugge”, says Clasie, who hopes that he will be active again next year in De Kuip.
