US OPEN: Novak Djokovic Overcomes The First Obstacle, Will Face Vesely In The 2nd Round!!!

It has been a rough period in the last couple of month for Novak Djokovic. Probably the most challenging period of his career ever since he took the throne as the No.1 player on the ATP list.

After his third round exit at the Wimbledon, Djokovic showed poor performance at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, as he was defeated by Juan Martin Del Potro in the opening round. Although he was expected to participate at the Masters in Cincinnati, Djokovic decided to skip the tournament as he wanted to have couple of more days to prepare for the last Grand Slam of the year – the US OPEN!!!

The news quickly picked up the buzz and spread around like a disease. Both Jelena and Novak denied the rumor, but the time will show if it had an effect on his performance at the US Open.

After nearly 2 hours and 40 minutes, Djokovic managed to defeat the Polish 26-year old in 4 sets (6:3, 5:7, 6:2, 6:1).

Despite the fact that the win never came in question, what was more interesting was the moment when Novak asked for the medical assistance after the 5th game of the 1st set, as he felt some pain in his right forearm.

Janowizc used that moment, to play a bit harder which gave result immediately, as he managed to win the 2nd set with 7:5.

However, Novak came out strong in the remainder of the match, taking the 3rd and the 4th set without much effort.

Next up, Novak will face the, currently 49th ranked player on the ATP list, Jiri Vesely, who defeated the Indian player Saketh Myneni in 5 set thriller match.

Djokovic and Vesely have played each other at the Master in Monte Carlo earlier this year, with Novak coming on top with 6:4, 2:6, 6:4!!!
