UFC Fight Night 128 in Atlantic City will take place on 21 April and the UFC has announced many battles for this event in a short space of time. Although the party between Siyar Bahadurzada and Luan Chagas is not yet official, five other battles are planned.
The most striking part goes between middle weights David Branch and Thiago Santos. Santos was still in the cage on Saturday against Anthony Smith at UFC Fight Night 125. He won this fight through TKO in the second round.
So his next opponent is Branch, the current number eight on the UFC mid-weight conveyor list and former midweight and lightweight champion of WSOF. Branch fights for the first time since he lost Fight Night 116 on UFC from Luke Rockhold.
For a moment Branch thought he had a fight with Yoel Romero at UFC on FOX 28, but that battle didn’t go ahead after champion Robert Whittaker registered for UFC 221 and Romero was put in an interim title fight opposite Rockhold.
Middle motifs on lightweight go for connection with subtop Corey Anderson and Patrick Cummins also fight against each other. The numbers eight and ten of the UFC lightweight grading list have an identical record: ten victories to four loss-making parties.
Anderson lost three of his last four fights, including his last two. Both against Jimi Manuwa and Ovince Saint Preux went Overtime knockout. Cummins won his last two parties by knocking Jan Blachowicz and Gian Villante.
Magomed Bibulatov fights against Ulka Sasaki, Leslie Smith takes up the unbeaten Aspen Ladd and Merab Dvalishvili will face Augusto Mendes. According to Combate, Uriah Hall will emerge in the east of America opposite Paulo Costa.
Bahadurzada announced that he would fight against Chagas through social media. At that time, it was not yet known that UFC Fight Night 128 is taking place in Atlantic City.
