UFC 222: Cyborg and Kunitskaya save main event, Edgar-Ortega co-main

UFC 222 still has a title fight. UFC feather weight champion Cris Cyborg fights with four weeks of preparation against Yana Kunitskaya, reports MMA Fighting. After the loss of UFC feather weight champion Max Holloway, Frankie Edgar also remained at the event: he fought against Brian Ortega.

After Holloway suffered a leg injury, the UFC made every effort to create a new main part. For example, it tried to make a rematch between UFC banana weight champion TJ Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt, but failed.

Now it still has a title fight thanks to Cyborg. The Brazilian fought her last batch on UFC 219 where she defeated Holly Holm. With this she defended her belt for the first time.

More than two months later she faces Kunitskaya, who makes her UFC debut. The Russian won the Invicta FC banana weight title in August by defeating Raquel Pa’ aluhi at Invicta FC 25. The previous champion, Tonya Evinger, left the organization to fight against Cyborg at UFC 214.

Ortega gets great chance Edgar fights so still. After he unsubscribed from the Holloway battle for UFC 218, a second attempt was made to make a title fight with Blessed, but now he has to prepare for someone else with a few weeks of preparation.

The Answer must do this for Brian Ortega. T-City is still undefeated and won an important victory in his last fight by knocking Cub Swanson. Ortega won with a guillotine choke in the second round and remained unbeaten after fourteen fights, of which six in the UFC.

The winner of this fight will probably take on Holloway when he recovers.

UFC 222 is scheduled for 3 March in Las Vegas. At this event Stefan Struve fights against Andrei Arlovski.
