Orange Onder-17 has qualified for the EK that will start in May in England. The team of federal coach Kees van Wonderen won Tuesday evening with 2-0 of Turkey’s contemporaries and ended with nine points from three rounds of play. It ends above Turkey, Italy and Iceland.
Orange had enough of a draw to set itself up for the final tournament, but left three points to the confrontation at Sportpark Parkzicht in Uden. Enric Llansana, a sixteen-year-old defensive midfielder of Ajax, opened the score six minutes after the break and the final chord was to Mohammed Ihattaren of PSV.
The EK Onder-17 was won last year in Croatia by Spain, which was too strong for England in the final after penalty kicks. Orange won the final victory in 2011 and 2012, after victory in Germany.
