Riyad Mahrez scored the only goal of the game as Leicester continued their hot streak in the Champions League. The Algerian grabbed his third goal in the competition in his third match as Leicester won against the Danes.
The foxes have three wins and three clean sheets in their first three UCL games as their perfect start to the biggest club competition continues.
Mahrez found the net when Jamie Vardy found the midfielder with a fine cross. The win saw Ranieri’s team grab a strong grip in Group G.
Leicester can be the first club to qualify for the round of 16 if the foxes are victorious in Copenhagen in their next fixture.
Mahrez is enjoying in the UCL as the Leicester star man is in great form in the tournament. The Algerian has only scored once in the league this season but already has three goals to his name in the Champions league.
It was Mahrez’s classy touch that got Leicester all three points in game week 3. The Leicester man is showing glimpses of his brilliance that earned him player of the season award in the league last season.
Vardy has found it difficult to find the back of the net this season but the England International is putting in a great effort and work rate to make up for it. The forward picked out the cross which resulted in Mahrez’s goal. Last season’s top scorer works tirelessly off the ball which often goes unnoticed.
Meanwhile, Claudio Ranieri is the doing the right thing to prioritize the UCL. Leicester has already won the league last time out against all the odds and winning the champions league can further make more history for the foxes.
Despite the poor form in the league and dropping to 13th spot, Leicester has turned up in Europe with perfect performances in all departments.
Cardiff wasted cash on Cornelius by spending a record fee of 8.5 million pounds. The striker’s header went wide but other than that the player doesn’t look anywhere near the EPL’s level.
Morgan is a true leader as the defender didn’t go off despite struggling with a back problem after a challenge in the first half. The Leicester captain was determined and led his team well and was vital for his side to pick up yet another clean sheet.
