Leicester Deserve To Be The Champion

It has been quite a story with Leicester very close to lifting the EPL title. The foxes are showing no signs of fatigue and slowing down. The team who was fighting for relegation last year is about to earn the highest honor in English football.

Everyone had a feeling that Leicester would fall at some point. At some point, the experience and lack of depth would be a huge problem. But, Claudio Ranieri’s men have passed all obstacles with flying colors.

Leicester City has played some beautiful football this season. But at times, teams are not able to win ugly; teams don’t have the ability to do whatever it takes to produce a win, to be second best and yet come up with three points. But that’s not the case with the foxes. Leicester has won three consecutive games one goal to nil. Their performances have fallen a bit, but they have been clinical in front of goal and have been resilient at the back.

Jamie Vardy is leading the Golden Boot race alongside Harry Kane with 19 goals. Leicester has scored the most goals this season in the EPL and is second in goal difference to Spurs. Schmeichel has 12 clean sheets to his name. Only Joe Hart has more i.e. 13.  Kante has the most number of interceptions in the league.

Overall Leicester has been phenomenal on all fronts. They have performed well against the big sides, the small sides and both home and away. The foxes have only been beaten twice away from home. With eight points clear of Tottenham, who have a game in hand, it looks highly unlikely that Claudio and his men would blow this up.

Mahrez is set to become the EPL player of the year. The Algerian midfielder has 16 goals and 11 assists to his name and is one of the most feared wingers in the league. The team collectively has been brilliant, and each is complimenting the other. Ranieri deserves to be the coach of the season as his tactics have been spot on. The whole football world is rooting for them, and a win for Leicester would surely be a win for football, Cheers!
