Stefan de Vrij will sign a new contract with Lazio at the end of this week, Sky Italia reports. The defender and his Italian employer have been talking for months about a new commitment, but now the decision has been taken. The Free is reported to be signing up until mid-2019, when the surrender price will be set at 25 million euros.
Igli Tare, sports director of the Roman club, already announced on Sunday that an agreement was approaching,”We are on the right track and have to make a joint decision. I hope that his journey will continue with us. It is also something he wants himself, because he loves this place and this club. He has many offers from top-class clubs, but his heart is Lazio”, says Tare.
The sports driver refers to the alleged interest of, among others, Internazionale, AC Milan, Juventus, Barcelona and Manchester United, which allegedly graded the Orange-international. Sky Italia reports that De Vrij is likely to grow up this summer, but with the contract extension Lazio leaves something to the defender, who would otherwise leave without transfer.
A good decision by Stefan de Vrij?
