Juan Martin Del Porto To Face Off Andy Murray For GOLD Medal!!!

What a great tennis match it has been between Juan Martin Del Potro and Rafael Nadal. It was truly a pleasure to sit and watch the two great champions fight for each point and for the FINALS.

After three hours and 10 minutes, the No. 141 on the ATP list Juan Martin Del Potro has made another huge sensation, beating Rafael Nadal, in a very exhausting match, with 5:7, 6:4, 7:6 (7:5) !!!

Juan Martin Del Porto To Face Off Andy Murray For GOLD Medal!!!Del Potro came to the Olympics trying to play some extra matches and trying to find his form from the time when he was ranked as the 4th player on the ATP list. Once it was clear that he was going to face off with the No1. tennis player Novak Djokovic in the first round, no one gave Delpo any chances to qualify for the next round. Not only that he has proven everyone wrong, but as soon as he defeated Djokovic, it was clear that Del Potro is back and that he could go deep into the tournament.

The predictions came true as Del Potro, one by one, defeated Joao Sousa 2:1 (6:3, 1:6, 6:3) in the second round, Taro Daniel 2:1 (6:7, 6:1, 6:2) in the third round and Roberto Bautista- Agut with 2:0 (7:5, 7:6) in the quarter finals.

After beating Rafael Nadal in the Semi-finals, Del Potro will play the Olympic Gold defending champion from London, Andy Murray.

Juan Martin Del Porto To Face Off Andy Murray For GOLD Medal!!!Murray has reached the Final match after defeating the Japanese Kei Nishikori in straight sets (6:1, 6:4). It took him only 79 minutes to finish the match, which means that he will be much rested compared to Del Potro.

Despite the outcome of the Final match, Del Potro has become a true HERO of the Olympic Games, considering that he was close to retiring from tennis due to his wrist injuries that made him sit out most of the 2014 and 2015 season, and that he played his first official match of the 2016 season back in February. Although he managed to defeat some of the Top 30 players on the ATP list during the 2016 season (Chardy, Kohlschreiber, Tim, Simon, Wawrinka) he has not reached the finals in any of the tournaments he played in during 2016.

The last time he played in the Finals and for a title was back in January of 2014 at the ATP tour Apia Internation in Sydney, when he won the title defeating Bernard Tomic.
The Final match Juan Martin Del Potro against Andy Murray will be played on Sunday for 15:30 local time.
