Theo Walcott started this season only three times in the base in the Premier League this season and must have it mainly from minutes in the EFL Cup. He was allowed to start Tuesday evening against Norwich City (2-1 profit), but the outside right could not make an impression. Ian Wright advises Walcott to think about a departure.
I don’t know what can be achieved for him at Arsenal, because he only participates in the EFL Cup and in the Europa League. When he said goodbye, he would like to have a lot of respect for what he is doing and he has indeed helped Arsenal very well. But now he has to leave, for himself.
Also Darren Bent, who scored on the conveyor belt for clubs like Ipswich Town, Charlton Athletic, Sunderland and Aston Villa, thinks that the’ freshness’ of a new club can do well for 28-year-old Walcott,”he’s been at Arsenal for quite some time now, and I don’t know how much he can improve there. Sometimes, if you go to another club in a different environment, you can fire again. That is perhaps what he needs.
Walcott made the transition from Southampton to Arsenal in the winter of 2006 and has played 392 official matches for the Gunners since then, scoring 107 times. The 47-fold international of England won five prizes with Arsenal: three times the FA Cup and twice the Community Shield. His contract in the Emirates Stadium continues until the summer of 2019.
Do you think Theo Walcott will be playing next season at Arsenal?
