Clasie saves honor for Club with cannonball; Vermeer blunders at debut.

Kenneth Vermeer will look back with mixed feelings on his debut for Club Brugge. The goalkeeper hired from Feyenoord won in the Belgian cup tournament with Blauw-Zwart from Standard Liège (3-2), but went ugly in the wrong at the opening goal point and was ultimately unable to prevent elimination in the semi-finals. Jordy Clasie crowned himself with a splendid goal to match-winner.

After only four minutes of playing at a corner kick under the ball, Vermeer dived through, after which Orlando Sá was able to give visitors a head start with a simple intimate approach. Standard was already almost sure of a place at the end of the game, because it had won the 4-1 outward race. Club Brugge, however, refused to abstain from shutting down in advance and eventually went down with his head raised.

Hans Vanaken drew at a stroke of rest with a free staircase for the equalizer, after which Abdoulay Diaby took care of the 2-1 after an hour of playing after a nice assistance from Ruud Vormer. Renaud Emond rebalanced the stand twenty minutes before time, but thanks to a splendid draw from Clasie Club Bruges won the race.
