The Chicago Bulls are still working on strengthening their roster for the upcoming 2016/2017 NBA season!!!
According to the reports, Chicago Bulls have finalized a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks in which they have traded Tony Snell for Michael Carter – Williams. They trade is to be official on Monday.
The two teams have played each other on Saturday during the pre-season matchup in Chicago, but none of the two players were on the rosters of their teams, which means that the trade talks were in the final stage of negotiations and that the deal was practically finalized.
Both players were drafted in 2013.but failed to make the expected progress in their career, although, Michael Carter- Williams won’t the Rookie of the Year award after his first season. However, ever since they have struggled to take the leading role on their teams, which is why they have been involved in many trade talks.
Considering why the two teams decided to pull such a move at this moment, it’s good to know that the Milwaukee Bucks are in desperate need to fill in the position and role that the injured Khris Middleton had. On that note, they even brought Michael Beasley, but it remains a question how much these two can become a long term solution for the Bucks, or is this just some temporary option which will end up in more trade talks….However, for Tony Snell it could actually mean more minutes on the floor than he had on the Bulls team, and a good chance to improve his stats. His role on the Bulls team was a complete disaster.
He never really got to that point to become a constant member of the starting lineup, despite the fact that he did, however, had nice shooting streaks, making 3-4 three pointers on a given night. That was all that he really was capable of, considering that his mental and physical strength never really reached the level needed to become one of the key players on a team such as the Chicago Bulls!!!
In addition, Tony Snell was facing increased competition, since Doug McDermott was the key reserve coming off the bench, and the fact that the Bulls have just drafted Denzel Valentine, who is a guard with much more offensive capabilities.
The Bulls have definitely been extremely active in the off season, bringing in a lot of guards, but it remains an uncertainty how much these players can help the Bulls on their quest of making the play-offs and becoming the force they once were!!!
With the start of the new season fast approaching, it will be interesting to see the Bulls perform in the first half of the season, which for many, will be decisive in which direction will the franchise go and if some of these new players will be a long term or a short term solution.
