Stefan de Vrij has still not signed up to Lazio, although rumours were circulating that a new agreement was to be announced in recent days. La Repubblica reports on Tuesday that the reason why there is no new deal yet is due to the demands of the agents of the 26-year-old Orange International.
The Vrij, which will run out of his contract with the Roman club next summer, has been negotiating a new commitment for months. The defender would like to see an escape clause of 25 million euros included in the contract, so that he can be caught more quickly by interested top clubs in the future, such as Barcelona, Liverpool and in particular Internazionale.
Igli Tare, sports director of Lazio, said earlier that the problem was with De Vrij’s representatives:”There is an agreement with the player, the problem lies with his agency. La Repubblica claims that businessmen require 20% of the redemption price of 25 million, should De Vrij grow up. Lazio is not happy with this demand and is reportedly unwilling to give way in the negotiations.
