Barcelona breaks yet another record after becoming the first club to win consecutive Copa del Reys since 1998 after beating Sevilla two goals to nil in extra time.

The Catalans were reduced to ten men after the dismissal of Mascherano with more than 60 minutes to play. Barcelona gave it all against Europa Cup Champions but it was Sevilla who were the better team for most of the game. Banega got sent off to make it 10 vs 10.

90 minutes went by and there was no splitting the Spanish sides and the final went into extra time. Messi produced a moment of brilliance with a beautiful pass to Alba who scored the opener for Barcelona and his first goal of the season.

Lionel Messi suffered a head injury but luckily for Barcelona it wasn’t serious and the Argentinean was able to continue. However, top scorer Luis Suarez suffered a hamstring injury and was substituted before the 60-minute mark.   
Dani Alves tumbled with Iborra in the penalty area but the defender was lucky to not concede a penalty. On the other hand, Neymar received a caution for simulation and this wasn’t the first the Brazilian has been involved in diving.
The match changed when Neymar went through and Banega fouled the forward, ultimately denying Barcelona a clear goal scoring opportunity. The defender received a red card for the last man foul and broke Sevilla’s hearts.

Messi took a deep role in the midfield to set Jordi Alba for a brilliantly created first goal. Neymar took a more central position than usual which gave Alba space to make a run on the left and Messi found the Spanish defender with ease.

The match would have been all over but Rico saved his side as he denied Pique, Busquets, Messi and Alves in a short period of time. But it was a matter of time till the defending champions would score the second goal and Neymar scored the second goal to win it for his side.
